In the darkened heart of Nightfell, new forces stir from their slumber.
Among the many secrets we are weaving to deepen the lore and expand the playable paths of the setting, a new class emerges, cloaked in mist and omen.
With five distinct archetypes, this mystical and folkloric calling draws from the most arcane echoes of the world…
Prepare to meet the Witchlings.
They say that those who bear the Mark upon their flesh did not choose it. The Witchlings are not born sorcerers, nor do they claim mastery over the unknown — they are chosen, branded by the merciless Hags who seek to bind them to their will. Witchlings belong to no coven, owe nothing to their peers. What binds them is a shared, harrowing past. They carry within them the echoes of knowledge so ancient it makes even the Spirits tremble. Through the mirror of forgotten rites, they tap into the collective memory of all Witches, drawing upon secrets lost to time. You will know them by the way their steps sink deep into the mire… And by the eyes that never stray from the black moon. |
🔮 Who are the Witchlings?
Inspired by the folkloric archetype of the wandering witch, this new playable class was born to embody those unfortunate souls who, stolen as children, are branded by the witch covens of Iùrmen — to be twisted, or enslaved. Witchlings are marked by a fate both dark and timeless. They are walkers between worlds, attuned to the entropic forces that shape reality, and capable of peering beyond the Veil to glimpse the memories of the Hags of ages past.
They are neither Warlocks, nor Druids, nor Sorcerers. They are not devout, nor chosen. They are receivers and interpreters of the mystic disorder that slithers beneath the skin of Iùrmen’s corrupted world. They endure only because they have learned to speak with the energies that lend their voice to Witchcraft.

🛠 Concept
From a mechanical standpoint, the Witchling is built upon a framework that could be described as warlock-esque, yet it is reshaped entirely to serve its own unique identity. Druidic influences blend with subtle sorcerous elements, without ever overwriting their source inspirations, thus forming a spellcasting class with distinct features that faithfully reflect key aspects of witchcraft in the world of Nightfell.
At the core of its gameplay lies the channeling of Entropic Spirits, paired with the uncovering of Ancient Secrets. These forces intertwine with the class’s subclasses, known as Seals: spiritual and narrative archetypes that shape the Witchling’s spells, powers, and the nature of their bound Spirits. There will be five Seals in total, each embodying a different lineage of the witches of Iùrmen, the original creators of these forbidden marks.

🕯 Elements & Archetypes
The goal behind this design was to draw inspiration from the folklore of witchcraft, where the pentacle and pentagram, also in modern traditions, represent the elements of Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Spirit. In adapting this concept to the world of Nightfell, we aligned five archetypal witch lineages from the lore, each symbolically tied to one of these elements and their related forces.
These are:
Greater Strix – Spirit, Light, Divinity, Arcane
Lesser Strix – Poison, Earth, Decay, Darkness
Truden – Water, Ice, Winter, Death
Cogas – Fire, Ferocity, Moon, Hunt
Janare – Air, Mind, Illusion, Knowledge
Why play as a Witchling?
If you enjoy playing characters marked by a dark and tragic past...
If you’re fascinated by primal witchcraft—made of spirits, cycles, and symbols...
If you’re looking for an arcane class that doesn’t imitate those that came before, but instead echoes them with a new and haunting voice...
If you wish to explore a kind of magic that offers not power, but consequences...
"When you walk the Witches’ Path, you are called to make choices. Will you answer their call, forsaking all other roads to embrace this fate? Or will you carve your own path, rewriting magic in pursuit of a purpose that is yours alone?"
